The Bührlestrasse in Zurich's Oerlikon district is named after Emil Georg Bührle, a German-born industrialist who owned the Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik Oerlikon and was a passionate art collector. He donated a building to the Zürcher Kunsthaus, which was constructed between 1954 and 1958. Bührle's art collection is now housed in the Stiftung E. G. Bührle, a private museum located in the Seefeld district.
